As always, this year has kept us more than busy! We are settling into our new farm – with mountain views, rolling hills, and plenty of pasture for the sheep. We said hello to new Border Collie pups, and also adopted an older Great Pyrenees, from the Bedford animal shelter, that needed a home. Gretel has done a great job integrating in with the other Great Pyrenees and continues to make herself at home.

A little traveling was on the books – and we even took some of the sheep! We went to the 2023 Fall Fiber Festival and Montpelier Sheep Dog Trials held at James Madison’s Montpelier.

We continue to pasture our sheep on our farm and the Bedford solar farm. This partnership with the town helps keep the grass under the solar panels under control and gives us additional grazing area.

In other news: we started a farmstand this year! As our schedule allows, we stock the stand with our homemade baked goods, sweet treats, and our lamb meats. We operate on an honor system, and offer different drive-up and pay options. If you want to find out when the stand is open and what we are stocking from week to week, please check out our Facebook page and follow along! Things may slow down in the Winter but keep checking our Facebook page for updates.

This holiday season, if you are looking to order one of our Whole Lambs for your special family meals – simply contact us. If you don’t need a whole lamb, as always, stop by Southern States in Bedford and purchase our lamb meat cuts. We keep the freezer fully stocked  – just look for the Blue Ridge Lamb & Wool signage.

Thank you for choosing our pastured raised meats, and farm made baked goods this year. We look forward to serving you in 2024! Have a blessed Christmas!
